One of the most surprising items we’d be stocking in our Brandhouse this week (yes, I’m still dreaming!) is the skirt with the ‘blouse effect’. You know the look: that casual style where you tie a blouse around your waist for that ultimate off-duty vibe.
In our collections, this has been translated into skirts and dresses, with that tie-effect already built in. The result? A look that accentuates your waist without looking too ‘dressed up’. It’s the perfect mix between ‘I just grabbed something off the rack’ and pure high fashion.

Who says checks are masculine? Personally, I’m a huge fan of all kinds of checked skirts, in all sorts of different styles. My favourite is the balloon skirt, but really, any type of skirt works this season.
We’re also seeing checks on shorts, jackets or in accessories such as shawls and caps. This allows you to create the perfect Orangebag balance: combining the bold, almost masculine feel of checks with the femininity of a skirt or dress. It instantly gives your outfit that ‘edge’ I love so much. It’s precisely by playing with contrasts that you can make the print your own: pair a check with soft knitwear or an elegant blouse for a more refined look, or go all out with a matching set for a bold statement. The beauty of this trend is that it adapts effortlessly to your style, from a subtle detail to a real eye-catcher.
How do you wear it?
There are so many different ways to make the checked pattern your own. As described above, you can wear it in a very girly way by pairing the print with a short skirt. Combine it with a pair of chunky high boots and you’ll instantly achieve a more mature look.
Personally, I prefer to wear a lovely checked blouse, paired with stylish trousers for an everyday, more business-like look, or with jeans for a more effortlessly cool vibe.
A must-have item in my wardrobe is the checked blazer and canvas-style jacket – I love them!
