We spoke to the team behind American Vintage.
How did American Vintage come about?
“American Vintage was founded in Marseille in 2006 by Michaël Azoulay. During a trip through America, he was inspired to launch the brand — hence the name American Vintage. Last year, we celebrated our 20th anniversary. In that time, we’ve grown enormously, both in terms of continents and collections. We now produce collections for women, men and children and cater to almost every age group, which makes the brand very accessible and versatile.”
What is at the heart of the brand? What do you stand for?
“Our mission is to create timeless, comfortable and high-quality clothing that people can wear every day and use to express their own style. Our vision is to make fashion more sustainable and authentic by focusing on timeless clothing rather than fast fashion.”
